Clemenz Opening · A00
Spike Lee Gambit
1. h3 h5 2. g4
No pawn stands on d4, e4, d5 or e5 - this line is played with the centre squares empty.
The first 3 moves, explained
- 1. h3 A useful waiting move that keeps the structure flexible on the h-file. Theory calls this the Clemenz Opening.
- 1... h5 A useful waiting move that grabs space on the h-file.
- 2. g4 Challenges the pawn on h5 - it can push to h4 or take on g4. Theory calls this the Spike Lee Gambit.
