- 1. h4 A useful waiting move that grabs space on the h-file. Theory calls this the Kádas Opening.
- 1... g5 Challenges the pawn on h4 - it can push to h5 or take on g5. The pawn is genuinely on offer - this is the Schneider Gambit: development and initiative over material.
