The structure hands Black the half-open d-file - rook pressure down it is a standing plan. White is up material out of the opening - Black is banking on activity to show for it. Black gives the e5 pawn to rip open the centre while White's queenside sleeps: ...d5, ...Nxd5 and every black piece aims at the white king.
