Ware Opening · A00
Meadow Hay Trap
1. a4 e5 2. Ra3
In the centre, Black holds e5.
The first 3 moves, explained
- 1. a4 A useful waiting move that grabs space on the a-file. Theory calls this the Ware Opening.
- 1... e5 Stakes a claim in the centre, controlling d4, and frees the bishop and queen.
- 2. Ra3 Develops the rook to a3. Only the knight on b1, bishop on c1, bishop on f1 and knight on g1 still stand at home. Theory calls this the Meadow Hay Trap.
